This course explores the physical and human geography of Rome, from its early beginings, the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, to the development of Rome as a modern European cultural capital.

Course readings, activities, and excursions will be selected to complement the course themes.

This course can be taken for either undergraduate (GEOG 291) or graduate (GEOG 891) credit.
